By providing liquidity to holders of distressed and defaulted companies and spreading our risk across numerous cases and classes within a case, Lapis is able to structure portfolios with lower aggregate risk profiles. Lapis is often able to fund the defense of claims by adding expertise and legal dollars that the original holders may be unable or unwilling to expend. Finally, by increasing our positions within cases we are able to spread these costs over a larger investment.
